Agricultural products from the Russian Federation
Many people associate the agricultural potential of the Russian Federation with black earth soils and grain exports from the
European part of the country.
However, hardly anyone knows that in the 19th century around half of the grain exported came from Siberia.
Agriculture in Siberia - is it possible? Of course!
The main directions of agriculture in the West and East Siberian region are grain and fodder production, as well as milk and meat production. Due to the low temperatures and short vegetation period, mainly summer crops are grown here. Animal husbandry
plays an important role.
At the same time, in addition to large-scale agricultural producers, a large number of medium-sized and small-scale farms have established themselves in recent years, which provide an unusually wide range of agricultural products for the local, regional and
national market. WWe think, they have to go international. Thats why we support them.
The majority of the products grown in the region meet international quality standards and are competitive.
We procure both conventional and organic goods for our customers. Feel free to contact us.
Russia's agricultural exports up by a fifth in 2020 - Despite the corona pandemic, the Russian agricultural and food industry was
able to increase exports sharply last year. - reports ProPlanta on January 24th, 2021
"At the same time, the proportion of products that are practically not manufactured in Russia is growing.
If in 2013 the proportion of Fruit amounted to 14.6% of the total supply, it rose to 17.0% in 2019. In terms of value, imports
decreased from US $ 6,446.9 million to US $ 5,040.2 million, mainly due to fruits traditional to the Russian Federation
(f.e. apples).
• Increase in the export supply of agricultural raw materials and food. In 2019, exports totaled $ 24,741.4 million,
an increase of 47.0% over 2013.
• A noticeable increase in the share of products with higher added value in the total value of exports of agricultural
raw materials and food from Russia. In general, raw materials (mainly grain) continue to dominate the overall structure
of export deliveries. In recent years, however, the export of processed raw materials and finished products has increased significantly.
The export quantities of vegetable oils (press cake and meal), meat and sugar have increased considerably. Overall,
Russian exports have been dominated by three product groups for several years in a row - grain, oilseeds and their processed products (oils, cakes and flour), and fish and seafood. In 2019, their share made up 73.9% of all deliveries in terms of
value, from January to September 2020 - 72.8%.
A significant increase in the price of agricultural raw materials and food in 2020. The rise in prices in the wholesale segment
affected most key commodities (grains, sugar, oilseeds and oils, potatoes, etc.). In the retail segment, out of 120 goods
examined, a price increase was found in 103 goods. With high food prices, a significant expansion of the cultivation area
is expected for 2021. With favorable natural conditions during the planting, ripening and harvesting periods, an increased food supply is expected in 2021.
In the 2021/2022 season (July 2021 to June 2022), on the contrary, prices will be at a relatively low level. "
